Last week I celebrated living in NYC for 20 years! NYC is a really special place, I'm so grateful I live here every day, it changes every day and that's the beauty of this place. I've lived here practically half my life and I'm always discovering something new about this city. I moved here September 28, 2003 and I went to the top of the Empire State Building, I got one of those audio tours where you got a discman with "Tony the cab driver" giving you the lay of the land. The last sentence in his audio tour had something to do with NYC being a place where ANY DREAM could come true. I think about that tour every day I'm here. I've gotten to live and work as a performing artist in NYC, met my husband in NYC, created a community of incredible artists in NYC and lived a beautiful life in NYC. It's a hard place to live, but there is BEAUTY and DREAMS COMING TRUE ON EVERY CORNER of this incredible city!

I've got some exciting shows and events coming up this month you get to hear all about it! Here's the Short List and all the DETAILS are BELOW!

Monday 10/9: Fancy Feast’s NAKED book launch at The Slipper Room

Saturday 10/14: The Ginger Cabaret Barrow's Intense NY Tasting Room

Friday 10/20: Midnight Show at the Slipper Room

Tuesday 10/24: Masked Marvelous at Materials for The Arts

NEW REELS!

I've been in the editing suite (my kitchen table!) Working on some goodies for you! Yeah, the past 3 years I've been focusing on Screen Acting and making video work! It's been really rewarding and here are a couple of short videos to have a gander at!

ACTING REEL

Got some new/ old clips for my Screen Acting Reel! Check out these scenes with Bambi The Mermaid, the late great Gilbert Gottfried Judy Gold Rachel Brosnahan Alex Borstein Pearls Daily Gretchen Wylder and Vico Ortiz plus some clips from my work at Kimball Studios

I’m a proud SAG-AFTRA NY member and I’m also looking for Talent Management . This person must understand my unique needs as an actor, queer rainbow performance artist, model! and Burlesque performer. I have a lot to offer so I need bespoke management ! If you are that person or know that person , you know how to find me!

YEAR IN RAINBOW REEL

In 2007 in order to push my boundaries as an artist, I did a "life as art" project called Year in Rainbow, where I'd wear one color every day for a month and rainbow on the alternate months, expoloring the 6 color rainbow. I documented my experiences living in color on a blog and did live shows for the color months.

Summer of 2020 I was missing live performance and needed an artistic practice to keep up my spirits, so I brought back Year in Rainbow. I did the same daily colors and the same blog, but instead of live performances I made experimental videos. Below is a reel of my work from 2020-2021.

Masked Marvelous at Materials for The Arts

Friends of Materials for the Arts (FOMA) is excited to host the Masked Marvelous Cocktail Party at our warehouse in Long Island City for the first time since 2019! Please join us on Tuesday, October 24th from 6:00-10:00 pm as we celebrate this year’s theme “A Homecoming – Back to the Warehouse.” This celebration will also feature a first look at the exhibition by Machine Dazzle, our current Artist-in-Residence.

We are immensely proud to honor Bloomberg, Pentagram and Modesto “Flako” Jimenez for the significant relationships that they continue to build and support in the NYC arts community through our organization. Every single Wednesday, Bloomberg volunteers support us in the warehouse helping to prepare for shopping days. Over the last year, Pentagram supported our growth with a rebranding strategy as we look to the future of MFTA’s footprint within the city. Additionally, it has been a privilege to partner with Flako, a DCLA Public Artist in Residence (PAIR), as he works to bridge his art with Oye Group’s Mercedes Project/ Mercedes Healing Room on Governors Island and with NY Health and Hospitals.

Join us in this homecoming celebration where you’ll have the chance to enjoy live music, roving entertainment, local cuisine, and community at this one-of-a-kind event.
