Darlinda is an internationally acclaimed performance artist, stage and screen actor, model, burlesque performer, comedian, and producer. She lives in Spain and works extensively in the United States, with bases in Barcelona and New York City, and has toured internationally throughout Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, England, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Spain, and Sweden.
Darlinda creates original, genre-defying performance art, including the year-long “life-as-art” project Year in Rainbow (2008 and 2020), her dance-theater works Untitled Rainbow Project (Wild Project), One Woman Rainbow and Year in Rainbow LIVE (both at Joe’s Pub,) NOT NAKED: The Darlinda Just Darlinda Story (The Parkside Lounge and The Barcelona Fringe Festival) and her newest creation A Diplomat of the Outrageous is coming soon . . .
She has performed Off-Broadway with Taylor Mac in A 24-Decade History of Popular Music (MacArthur Fellow), The Lily’s Revenge (Obie Award), and at Lincoln Center’s Roots of American Music Festival. She has also appeared with legendary drag collective The Cockettes in Cocktail of Glamour and Anarchy at Lincoln Center.
Her television and film credits include These Thems, Accommodations, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Boardwalk Empire, The Other F Word series, Betty, and BIZARRE (film).
Darlinda is one half of the iconic burlesque duo The Schlep Sisters, co-producing camp-favorite shows such as The Menorah Horah and The Burning Bush vs. The Second Coming. The duo is also featured in the critically acclaimed documentary Getting Naked: A Burlesque Story.
A resident artist of Blunderland, Darlinda has appeared at London’s Underbelly, Adelaide Fringe, and Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club. She has produced numerous shows—some of which The New York Times dubbed “Shockingly Explicit!”—and is a regular performer at premier NYC and Barcelona venues including The Slipper Room, House of Yes, The Box, Foxy Bar,and Absenta De Raval.
Darlinda is faculty at the New York School of Burlesque, has lectured at Yale University’s Sex Week, and teaches internationally. She has competed and performed both solo and with The Schlep Sisters at the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas.
She was named a “Top 10 Badass Burlesque Babe” by The Sundance Channel, voted Top 50 International Burlesque Industry Figure multiple times, and is the recipient of the Golden Pastie Award for Most Innovative and Creative. Darlinda is also the first and multiple-time winner of the Brooklyn Nightlife Award for Best Burlesque Dancer.
