Why ADOTO?As some of you know, I moved to Barcelona in 2024, and I’m finding myself with a new artistic energy. I’ve been inspired by all the immigrants I’ve met, and the ones I already know.
This summer, Hubby Just Hubby and I were staying at our friend Lulu’s in Paris, and I thought, “I want to create something that can live forever. I want to make a Talk Show!”
ADOTO’s theme is immigration. Each episode features a guest who is an immigrant or is considering emigrating. Right now our guests come from my community of showbiz folks, queers, and artists of all kinds!
We’ve recorded four episodes already and are releasing two of them in November: November 1 with Shane O’Neill and November 15 with Daphne Always.
Behind the scenesLast time I ran my Patreon all on my own, which was very difficult. This time it’s been a breeze, because Debs Baird, a Patreon maven, is also the ADOTO Producer! You may know her work from Rizo, John Cameron Mitchell, and Drennon Davis.
Our inaugural month will release the Pilot and the first official episode. After that we’ll release an episode a month, and as we grow, I hope we can offer more each month!
Live in Barcelona! For those of you in Barcelona, on November 13th and 14th I’m doing a LIVE TAPING of ADOTO at The Barcelona Comedy Fringe Festival with Kimberly Nicole (NYC and now London), Hannah Becker (NY and now Barcelona), and Fauco (Chile/Ireland and now Barcelona). Ambassador patrons get a free ticket, and a recording will be available to all tiers in the coming months!Tickets and information here: https://www.darlindajustdarlinda.com/post/a-diplomat-of-the-outrageous
Sending you all lots and tons of love in these rough times, and if you are in the USA, please VOTE EARLY and JUST VOTE!
